Qualifications:

 

Reports To: Principal/Assistant Principal

 

Job Goals:   To assists as directed by the teacher in improving student’s basis skills in reading/math and

                        other academic areas.

 

Performance Responsibilities:

 Assumes responsibilities as directed by the teacher and

  1. Operates within school district policies and
  2. Promotes a positive image of the school district program to the
  3. Works harmoniously with supervising teacher, staff and
  4. Contributes to the development and implementation of a successful instructional
  5. Listens to students read orally and share experiences through oral expression
  6. Assists individuals and small groups with skill development in reading language, mathematics, writing and interpreting directions to reinforce learning
  7. Assists students with drill or additional instruction and review of skills missed through
  8. Sets up and operates audio-visual aids to present/review subject matter to
  9. Tells/reads stories and monitors small group discussion and
  10. Distributes and collects teaching materials such as textbooks, worksheets, tests, or writing paper and pencils.
  11. Assists in maintaining order in the classroom, cafeteria, playground,

   12. Works cooperatively with the teacher in the instructional planning

  1. Assists in the general neatness/attractiveness of the classroom and room arrangements such as learning centers, bulletin boards and displays, and regrouping of furniture for group
  2. Puts work on the board and assists in preparing stencils, charts, posters, and correcting papers.
  3. Serves as an effective role model for primary grade
  4. Assists in planning and conducting field
  5. Takes class to the library to assist librarian in working with students and selecting materials.
  6. Encourages students to have positive attitudes about self and
  7. Adheres to district and school policies and regulations regarding work, breaks, attendance,
  8. Attends and participates in staff development
  9. Performs hall, lunchroom, and bus
  10. Performs any other duties assigned by the supervising teacher or

Evaluation:  Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with

                    provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
